But what many of them discover—sometimes unexpectedly—is something deeper: A place to belong. A community that *feels like home.* Because Healing Roots isn’t just a school. It’s a village built on connection, compassion, and shared values. Here, education is important—but it’s not the only thing we hold dear. We also care about how your child feels. We care about how you feel. And we’re here to walk this journey *with* you. --- ### More Than a Classroom—It’s a Culture At Healing Roots, being part of our community means being: - Known by name - Greeted with warmth - Celebrated for who you are - Supported through growth, mistakes, and transformation - Invited to show up fully—without needing to perform or pretend Whether you're logging in from a mountain cabin, a beachside van, or a kitchen table in the suburbs, you're not alone. You're part of something shared and steady. --- ### What Community *Looks* Like Here - Weekly **advisory circles** where students reflect, share, and listen - Thoughtful **mentor check-ins** that go beyond “How’s school?” - Whole-school **gatherings**, virtual talent shows, and seasonal celebrations - Parent forums and casual chats that help caregivers feel less alone - Open communication where voices are heard and questions are welcomed We aren’t here to operate a system. We’re here to support people. That’s the difference. --- ### A Parent Shares *"I thought I was just enrolling my kids in a school. What I didn’t expect was the feeling of being embraced—of finally finding people who see education the way we do."* --- ### Rooted, Even While Roaming So many of our families live mobile, unconventional lives. Some travel full-time, some homeschool part of the week, some are neurodiverse or navigating transitions. And all of them want the same thing: A place where their children can grow, safely and freely. A place where they don’t have to explain or justify their lifestyle. A place that understands learning doesn’t happen in a vacuum—it happens in real life, through real relationships. That’s the community we’ve built. And we’d love for you to be a part of it. --- ### You’re Welcome Here Joining Healing Roots isn’t just about changing how your child learns. It’s about joining a community that believes in kindness, in curiosity, and in learning that honors the whole child. It’s about being seen. And it’s about knowing that—no matter where you go—you’ve got roots. ## Blog comments ## Related posts [![](https://www.healingrootsedu.org/hubfs/fc332574-0913-49a0-83af-b5d3d9692cac.png)](https://www.healingrootsedu.org/blog/designing-your-own-school-day-real-life-schedules-that-work) ## [Designing Your Own School Day: Real-Life Schedules That Work](https://www.healingrootsedu.org/blog/designing-your-own-school-day-real-life-schedules-that-work) ![Picture of Healing Roots Online School](https://www.healingrootsedu.org/hs-fs/hubfs/hros%20flower.png?width=50&name=hros%20flower.png) [Healing Roots Online School](https://www.healingrootsedu.org/blog/author/healing-roots-online-school) Dec 22, 2025 At Healing Roots, we don’t believe school has to start at 8 a.m.We don’t believe learning only...
